74. Not Long Now...

Hello all!!! Long time no post! Well, much has happened in recent weeks, and I'm very excited to share with you my news!!

Mid-July I left for Hew Hampshire to be a counselor for 2 weeks of the Slaves' Girls Summer Camp (Morning Star Camp). I bonded with the Sisters, met some great Catholics, and overall had a great 2 weeks! After Camp I drove one of the Sisters back to the Convent in Massachusetts and then stayed there until Monday afternoon.

Here's the week 2 group counselor shot on our
favorite vehicle - "Labora" the golf cart!

I had a great time with the Sisters, and even though the camp was exhausting, I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and grew in my Faith!

So now for the big announcement...

Drum roll please............

A month ago, I mailed my application for entrance with the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. On Sunday I learned that...
 I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED!!!!

I'll be entering on October 7th, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary!

I'm so excited and happy, and I can't wait to enter!! I'll enter as a postulant, which will last 6 months.

I'm going back to visit at least 2 more times (because I can't go 2 months without seeing them, apparently... :P), in late August, and in early September. One of those visits, I will get measured for my habit!

This is so real, but I can't believe it!!! I am going to enter!

Say hello to my new home!

In the meantime, while I'm still here, I'm suddenly excessively appreciative of all that I have, where I live, and who I see on a daily basis. I realized that I'll be leaving the hometown that I've loved forever, and that there are some people that I very well may never see again in my lifetime. I'm enjoying my 2 months left by taking the scenic route to Church, taking in all the sights and sounds of my town, and seeing all my friends and spending as much time with them as possible. This is going to be hard, leaving all this behind, but then there's the hundred fold.

"Jesus answering, said: Amen I say to you, there is no man who hath left house or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who shall not receive an hundred times as much." -Mark 10:29-30

I've decided that I'm going to enjoy my time left here, and do things that I never got around to doing. I'm hoping to go see a Broadway musical (Either Phantom or Lion King!!), and I am going to try to be more adventurous! I want to go to Ausable Chasm and go rafting and overall enjoy my time before I enter the convent and can't do most of these things any longer.
But most of all, I am THRILLED that I will be entering this order!! It's surreal! Kind of like a dream, that I think I'll wake up from, but I know I won't! It's just so crazy that all the sudden I'm going to leave everything behind and join the convent. It's kind of scary, but I am so happy to be doing this finally.

I want to thank you all for reading my blog, for encouraging me and, most of all, for praying for me. Please continue to pray for me, as I will for you, and I will try to update often these last 2 months. I've got a lot of things to do!

God bless you all!!!!

73. THANK YOU PAPA BENNY

THANK YOU (A huge thank you) to Pope Benedict XVI on this the anniversary of the publication of his Motu Proptio, Summorum Pontificum!

("borrowed" from Fr. Z's post)

I celebrated this wonderful day by attending Mass... In the Extraordinary Form! ;)

In short, Summorum Pontificum 7 years ago pretty much gave the OK to almost any priest, anytime, anywhere, to celebrate the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (Latin Mass, Old Form, Tridentine Mass, whatever you want to call it).

If you don't have an EF near you (that's in communion. SSPX = spiritually icky), wave a copy of SP in front of your pastor and mail him another copy. And send another copy via email in case the postman took it to read for himself. And text him the link if you have to. Get him to read it and then pray that it inspires him to say the Old Form, even if it's just once a week...

Have a blessed day!

WooHoo!
